This full-time, exempt Field Service Site Engineer position is based in Canonsburg, PA and reports to the Sr. Manager of the Integrated Water Services division (IWS).

Responsibilities

  • Provide field service to Aquatech’s customers (domestic and international).
  • Startup and troubleshooting of water treatment plants and equipment; supervision and maintenance advice to customers.
  • Prepare daily reports on activities at customer sites.
  • Map additional business opportunities at customer sites.
  • Act as a technical adviser to customers.
  • Work closely with all engineering disciplines to support customers.
  • Provide feedback to engineering teams on lessons learned for future improvements.
  • Carry out modifications to PLC and HMI programs under guidance from the home office.
  • Supervise site activities such as filter media and RO membrane loading.
  • Provide training to customer staff on plant operation and maintenance.
  • Participate in in-house activities such as preparing engineering documents, schedules, and programming PLC and HMI equipment.
  • Assist in developing proposals.
  • Make visits to vendor sites for inspection and testing.
  • Travel up to 60% of the time may be necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Electrical and Controls, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1–7 years’ experience in a process industry or process engineering firm.
  • Experience with water treatment equipment such as filters, RO, clarifiers, Ion Exchange, and wastewater treatment is highly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of pumps, valves, instrumentation, and controls is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety is necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and control systems is preferred.
  • Experience in programming PLC and HMI is highly desirable.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to travel to customer sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and maintain a positive attitude.

Physical Demands

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, with limited walking and standing.
