Job Management
- Communicates job objectives, design and possible operation changes with the client
- Reviews safety and flow-back procedures
- Confirms proppant and chemical tracer objectives
- Reviews job design needed to achieve objectives
- Communicates job changes that may occur depending on effectiveness of overall well site operations
- Gathers and evaluates information on well specifications
- Strategizes rig-up scenarios with the client
- Recommends optimal design to maximize tracer outcomes
- Analyzes mud reports
- Determines the appropriate amount of tracer to use
- Monitors real-time well site operations
- Adjusts tracer job design depending on status and stage of the operation
Tracer Operations
- Surveys the well site to ensure no radioactive material residue remains
- Provides technical product support
- Determines the appropriate mix of proppant and chemical tracers
- Makes sure tracer is monitored into the “frac” line
- Measures tracer material going downhole using STMU
- Communicates status of the tracer operations to the client
- Completes all required reports at the conclusion of the job
Job Close Responsibilities
- Conducts a post-job review with the client
- Obtains post job treatment report from the frac company
- Promotes and educates the client on services provided by Core Laboratories
- Reviews marketing materials with the client as appropriate for potential future work
Radiation Safety
- Demonstrates knowledge, responsibility, and authority in enforcement of radiation protection rules, standards, and practices
- Functions as the Radiation Safety Officer at the well site
- Takes charge of the well site in case of emergencies
- Evaluates emergency situations
- Directs all third party personnel in appropriate response
- Provides regulatory representatives with detailed descriptions of work
- Evaluates and identifies safety hazards
- Has the authority to cease operations when necessary
Training/Teaching
- Trains clients and flow-back crew on proper sampling procedures
- Trains engineers and oil field gauger/pumper personnel on sampling schedules and specialized sampling equipment and procedures
- Trains mud engineers on sample collection procedures
- Trains well site personnel on proper use of radiation survey meters and survey techniques
Other Job Duties
- On-call 24/7 and expected to respond to calls within 60 minutes
- Willing to travel and work on weekends
- Responsible for safe handling and transportation of all assigned radioactive material and equipment
- Maintains the company vehicle
- Delivers products and services to customers as needed
- Ensures a safe work environment and minimizes accidents in the workplace and on well sites
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Associates degree with some college course work in a field of science, technology or engineering preferred
- Minimum two years of previous oil and gas service experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software preferred
- Strong Excel skills will be required to complete job reports and paperwork
- Some experience with Access preferred
- An aptitude for learning new software systems preferred
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required
- Certifications in Radiation, Well Logging or Subsurface Tracer Operations preferred
