Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Field Service Representative to support a defense-focused organization delivering advanced communications, networking, and tactical data link capabilities to military customers. This position is onsite in San Diego, CA with up to 75% domestic and international travel.
About the role
The Field Service Representative will provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, integration, testing, and operational support for networked communication systems in field and operational environments. This is an opportunity to directly support mission-critical communications that enable military readiness and operational success.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite technical support, troubleshooting, and operational assistance for tactical communications and networked communication systems.
- Interface directly with military units and communication squadrons while serving as a technical liaison for system deployment and support activities.
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows servers, virtual environments, and enterprise network infrastructure.
- Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, and communication systems supporting tactical operations.
- Develop test plans, technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, system configurations, and support live field testing activities.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in networking, systems administration, telecommunications, testing, or related IT environments.
- Strong experience with Linux administration, Windows systems, network troubleshooting, routing, switching, VLANs, IP networking, LAN/WAN technologies, and military communication systems.
- Hands-on experience supporting Tactical Data Links such as Link 16, CDL, TTNT, SADL, and other waveform technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting radio systems, communication platforms, and network security devices including firewalls, IDS, IPS, and NGFW solutions.
- Knowledge of Marine Corps communications environments, communication squadrons, and operational military networking concepts strongly preferred.
- Active Secret Clearance required or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Pay
Salary Range: $100,000 - $145,000 depending on experience
