Field Service Representative
About the role
Schneider Electric’s Field Service Representatives collaborate with customers, team members, and third-party partners to perform assembly, startup, diagnostic, repair, and preventive maintenance on both Company and third-party manufactured equipment in dynamic environments. This site-based position focuses on servicing equipment supporting power distribution and critical power infrastructure, with occasional nonstandard hours and a 40-hour guarantee (+Overtime). Most work occurs at customer sites.
Schneider Electric provides direct product training, service vehicles, tools, uniforms, mobile devices, and laptops for daily professional use.
Responsibilities
- Pre-site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modification of equipment
- Problem-solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and District Service teams
- Completion of field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance, and startup data sheets
- Collaboration with your Manager and/or Regional Service Director to resolve complex escalated issues
- Continuous learning and training on various products both in the field and in the classroom
- Travel throughout the region for local customer support or countrywide travel, including overnight travel by vehicle/air
- Assistance to senior technicians and support for Project Management on larger system start-ups
- Collaboration with larger teams of Field Service Representatives and Project Managers on higher complexity projects
- Acting on behalf of the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues as required
Requirements
- An Associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, Military training, or similar experience in electrical-related disciplines
- Ability to read blueprints/schematics
- Thorough understanding of principles of AC and DC power, various AC and DC supply circuit components
- 2+ years of field service repair and customer service with UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems, power distribution and switchgear, seamless automatic transfer switches (ATS), power distribution units, electrical, electro-mechanical, or electronics-related equipment
- 2+ years in Field Services or equivalent industry experience
- Good safety practices and adherence to company safety procedures/policies (lock out tag out, compliance with all safety programs, and completion of safety-related trainings on time)
- Ability to identify hazards in the work area and report all safety matters, incidents, and near misses to management or safety representative
- NFPA-70E or OSHA experience preferred
- Safe driving and vehicle operations skills
- Skilled at utilizing test and diagnostic equipment
- Experience reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and operation manuals
- Ability to write service reports, correspondence, procedures, effectively present information, and respond to customer questions
- Frequent strenuous physical tasks, including bending, stooping, and lifting/carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work outside in environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, and dust
- Ability to remain in a standing position for extended periods, including working in small confined spaces
- English proficiency to communicate with customers and team members
- Proficient in basic computer skills and systems, including Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and the ability to navigate and utilize company digital tools and resources

Pay
For this U.S.-based position, the expected pay range is USD 68,000 - USD 102,000 per year, including base pay and short-term incentives. Individual pay is determined by performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
