About the role
We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Manassas, VA.
Location: Manassas, VA. Job Type: Technician (On-site with Flexibility). Relocation Package: Yes.
Responsibilities
- Completing repair activities on generators or components
- Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of service
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Requirements
- Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities
- High Voltage / Low Voltage experience
- Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products
- Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators
- Basic Diesel Engine experience
- Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
- Minimal level of workshop related experience required
- Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
- Nice to have: CDL may be required upon hire (must be 21 years or older)
- Current valid driver’s license required; must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
- Five‑year motor vehicle report free of major violations
Qualifications
- Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
- Current relevant electrical certification
- Locally valid driving permit
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, on‑call rotation, and potential weekend work
