Field Service Power Generation Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in West Sacramento, CA. The ideal candidate will diagnose and complete less complex repairs to generators and components at the customer's site.

About the role

Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
Utilize diagnostic tools for maintenance and repairs.
Maintain detailed records of services performed.
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
Maintain own tools.

Responsibilities

• Completing repair activities on generators or components
• Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
• Performing maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of service
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

Requirements

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands-on exposure to working on power generation products
• Basic Diesel Engine experience
• Proficient troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components
• Able to perform repairs on ATS systems and able to perform commissioning on a new ATS installation

Qualifications

• Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
• Current relevant electrical certification

Skills

• Customer service experience
