Field Service Engineer II
Bio-Rad is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on Clinical Diagnostic instruments for customers within hospitals and laboratories in the West Palm Beach, FL area. This role may require travel on short notice to support other team members within the region.
About the Role
In this highly autonomous position, you will spend most of your time at customer sites, traveling up to 5 days a week within your assigned territory as part of a national service team. The role is fast-paced, requiring the ability to solve complex problems while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on Bio-Rad’s instruments to ensure quality performance for customers advancing healthcare.
- Support and maintain Bio-Rad instruments relied upon for scientific breakthroughs in healthcare research and treatments.
- Build and sustain strong customer relationships to anticipate and advocate for their needs.
- Adhere to FDA and GMP regulations with detailed record-keeping and service documentation to protect Bio-Rad’s integrity and reputation.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of transferable field service experience servicing electro-mechanical, electronic, optical, or robotics equipment.
- An A.S. or B.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or military equivalent experience).
- Ability to read, understand, and follow medium to highly complex work instructions.
- Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong computer skills and fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
- Excellent customer relation and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for daily travel.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments.
Location
This position covers the Fort Lauderdale, FL/Palm Beach area. Candidates must live within a geography that allows daily on-site customer visits.

Pay
The estimated base salary range for this position is $64,900 to $89,200. Actual compensation will be based on geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is also eligible for a variable annual bonus dependent on individual and company performance.
