Field Service Electrician

What You’ll Do as a Field Service Electrician

• Troubleshoot and repair CAT engine controls, electrical systems, and power generation equipment at customer locations.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and point-to-point drawings.
• Install Class 1 Div 2 conduit and wiring, including enclosure lighting panels.
• Perform Load Bank testing and work with Low, Medium, and High Voltage systems.
• Fabricate and install engine harnesses and solder wire connections.
• Install and wire generators, switchgear, controls, conversions, and related components.
• Generate detailed field service reports for customer documentation.
• Provide exceptional customer service while on job sites.

Position Requirements

• Mustown an associate’s degree or certificate from a technical school preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience troubleshooting engine controls and wiring.
• C175 engine experience a plus.
• CAT Switchgear experience a plus.
• Proficient with AC/DC circuits, schematics, and general mechanical systems.
• Able to operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely.
• Strong understanding of Caterpillar generators, switchgear, and load bank operations.
• Field service experience with diesel engines, gas compression, and PLC/HMI systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in the field.

Preferred Experience

• CAT switchgear certification and CAT training.
• Prior military mechanic experience is a plus.
