Field Service Diesel Technician

Field Diesel Technicians troubleshoot, repair, and diagnose both routine maintenance and emergency services while making repair recommendations to customers. This position works with other technicians to ensure all work is performed safely and to the customer's satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality repairs and maintenance on Diesel Engines/Heavy Duty Trucks as specified in manufacturer-designed procedures.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork (e.g., repair information on work orders, information for state and emission inspections) promptly.
  • Diagnose vehicle failures by disassembling, repairing, and reassembling parts.
  • Adhere to all Company and industry safety standards.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other vital parts to ensure proper operating conditions.
  • Service refrigeration units (reefer experience on Carrier and/or Thermo King Units).
  • Perform general fleet maintenance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of diesel repair and maintenance experience in a heavy truck/fleet dealership or shop environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of multiple systems (e.g., A/C, brake, emission, air), diagnostics, and troubleshooting diesel engines.
  • Computer and software skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willing to work on call and irregular hours on the roadside in all weather conditions.

Schedule

Four 10-hour shifts (6:30am - 5:00pm).
