About the role
The Field Sales Representative supports TTI, Inc.'s Chatsworth Branch by increasing sales in the Los Angeles, CA market. TTI, Inc. is a global distributor of passive, connector, electromechanical, and discrete components.
Responsibilities
- Create sales by generating leads and calling on assigned customer accounts.
- Defend sales by ensuring all aspects of transactions are handled professionally and ethically.
- Penetrate sales by pursuing new business leads and securing new business.
- Facilitate follow-through on the sales cycle by keeping touch with customers and managing order details.
- Attend QBRs and regular meetings with internal management to understand the business outlook and opportunities.
- Increase customer account coverage by working closely with Account Representatives and offering value-added services.
- Negotiate special pricing from suppliers to offer the best deal for the customer and win the business.
- Resolve customer questions, problems, and complaints by responding promptly and providing high-level service.
- Maintain market awareness on competitor activities and industry trends.
- Report daily itinerary to branch management to track customer activity and effectiveness.
- Participate in the TTI Total Quality Program by supporting quality processes and improving transactional efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of field sales experience, preferably in component sales and/or engineering, with a background that includes progression from inside sales, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of sales, purchasing, product, vendors, warehousing, branch operations and systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Able to present complex topics effectively to senior management, public groups, and boards of directors.
- Strong analytical skills (able to calculate discounts, interests, commissions, proportions, and percentages).
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Able to work with minimum supervision and make responsible, independent decisions.
- Valid Driver’s License, safe driving record, and insurable by the Company’s liability carrier.
- Able to travel 50% of the time, amount varies based on territory assigned.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) at a basic level required.
- Able to carry up to 10 lbs. without assistance.
