Job Summary

The Field Safety Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and well-being of field personnel working on electrical construction and service projects. This position provides on-site safety leadership, conducts inspections, supports crews with hazard mitigation, and ensures adherence to company policies, OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and industry best practices. The Field Safety Supervisor partners closely with project managers, foremen, and electricians to maintain a proactive safety culture.

About the Role

This position requires 5+ years of safety experience as an individual contributor in construction or electrical substation, plus 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience. Advanced knowledge and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations are required. Ability to work independently in remote field environments is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, digital reporting tools, and safety management systems is also required. Good interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Company’s commitment to safety and adheres to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Conducts daily site visits to active electrical projects to monitor safety performance and compliance.
  • Coaches and mentors field employees on safe work practices, electrical hazard awareness, and proper use of PPE.
  • Reviews, coaches, and mentors foremen on Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documents.
  • Supports operations and project managers through development and implementation of site-specific safety plans.
  • Performs routine safety audits, equipment inspections, and site walkthroughs; documents findings and corrective actions.
  • Maintains accurate safety records, reports, and documentation.
  • Delivers field training on electrical safety, fall protection, confined space, equipment operation, JSA, and other required topics.
  • Supports onboarding of new hires through safety orientation program and company policy review.
  • Completes new employee, random, and post-incident drug testing on an as-needed basis.
  • Routine interacts with warehouse operations to assist with safety equipment inspection and facility inspections.
  • Attends client-sponsored meetings on an as-needed basis to enhance knowledge and relationships with customers.
  • Performs additional duties as directed by manager.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years safety experience as an individual contributor in construction or electrical substation, plus 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience (strongly preferred).
  • 1-3 years of substation and electrical experience (strongly preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently in remote field environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, digital reporting tools, and safety management systems.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
