Position Responsibilities
- Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 regulations and implementation
- Management of root cause investigations, site audits, new hire orientations, regulatory training, Heart of Zachry Program, and more
- Assist in developing and implementing guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Stay informed about pending legislation and regulatory mandates, develop compliance strategies, and communicate issues to corporate safety support staff
- Work with management on regulatory complaints, legal agencies, and safety issues
- Maintain records of incidents and determine recordability, and consult with corporate safety support staff
- Review and modify safety policies and procedures, and involve project line management in the process
- Initiate and monitor safety assessments, follow up with management on corrective actions, and guide project line management on future initiatives
- Provide input on training methods and involve project line management in the process
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of field activities and worker's compensation issues
- Review standard reports for trends and make recommendations based on data
- Ensure compliance with company drug and alcohol policy and keep project line management informed
- Support safety meetings and maintain an active role in the safety process
- Coordinate and assist in safety evaluations, and review accident investigations
- Lead safety incentive programs and review site fire protection and emergency evacuation plans
- Assist in defining safety processes and eliminating waste
- Listen to employee concerns regarding safety and health and take appropriate action

Valued but Not Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Former Zachry employee
- College Degree or formal education/degree/certificate in construction, technical, or trade school such as NCCER Certification
- Familiarity with laws and regulations regarding health & safety
