About the role
Hohl Industrial Services is seeking a Field Safety Coordinator who is passionate about promoting safety and fostering a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of construction, industrial, utility, or related safety experience, along with OSHA 510 Certification. This position involves working directly on job sites, conducting daily inspections, leading safety trainings, and investigating incidents.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily jobsite inspections, safety audits, and behavioral observations.
- Identify hazards and collaborate with project teams to implement practical solutions.
- Lead new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
- Coach employees and supervisors to reinforce safe work practices.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage events, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and safety planning.
- Maintain accurate inspection reports, training records, and safety documentation.
- Promote Hohl's safety culture through leadership, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Support emergency response activities as needed.
- Stay current on OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of construction, industrial, utility, or related safety experience.
- OSHA 510 Certification required (OSHA 500 preferred).
- CHST, OHST, CSM, or other safety certifications are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety reporting systems.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites throughout Western New York.
