Field Quality Lead II

About the Role

QISG is hiring a Field Quality Lead II to support a $250M, 286MW power generation EPC project. The position highlights include a long-term project assignment near Midland, TX, with an initial 2-month training period in Eagle Mountain, UT. This is a full-time, permanent QISG position with opportunities to transition to future projects after completion. The role requires willingness to work on project site, with travel and lodging expenses covered by QISG.

Responsibilities

The Field Quality Lead II will monitor and oversee required quality activities and deliverables in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans, QC inspections, Drawing and specification compliance, and manufacturers’ recommendations. The role involves participating in systematic and independent reviews and audits, identifying and documenting issues, and developing corrective action plans. The Field Quality Lead II will also ensure contract specified Factory Acceptance Testing, QA/QC testing, monitoring, and records documentation are incorporated into the project quality plans and activities.

• Participates in project quality, construction, and safety meetings
• Assists in coordinating and communication of third-party testing and inspections
• Performs any other duties assigned
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures

Requirements

The role requires an Associate’s degree in a relevant field or a minimum of 4 years of experience in quality control/assurance or a related field. A general understanding of quality inspections/audits and quality programs, familiarity with safety requirements and environmental considerations, and experience in surveillance oversight programs are necessary.

• Comprehensive understanding of equipment and material specifications and testing requirements
• Basic understanding of critical path scheduling
• 10-hour OSHA certification

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, 10 and 30-hour OSHA certification, and four years of construction or quality management experience in EPC, Design Build, or CMAR projects are preferred. Certifications in civil and electrical inspection, testing, welding inspection, structural bolting, testing, and commissioning are also desirable.

• Experience supervising or leading an inspection or management team
• Technical experience related to design, construction, and related procurement requirements
• General writing skills using Microsoft Word, Bluebeam, or similar software packages

• Advanced construction techniques, testing, standards compliance, and experience
• Solid understanding of equipment and material specifications and testing requirements at manufacturer facilities
• Critical thinking skills and strong attention to details
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Good communicator with interpersonal and teamwork skills

Travel Requirements

Travel is required, with 90% of time spent traveling.
