About the role

National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering home, auto, and accident and health insurance, as well as other specialty niche insurance products. This role supports Northeast property and homeowner claims, focusing on weather-related losses like frozen pipes, water damage, hail, and wind.

Responsibilities

• Possesses a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company
• Possesses strong estimating fundamentals in order to create or audit estimates of damages on 1st party homeowners' losses with complexity
• Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers across multiple lines
• Evaluates settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices; makes decisions on best option
• Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files across multiple lines

This job does not have supervisory duties.

Qualifications

• Experienced adjuster with prior carrier experience
• Ability to handle claims from start to finish
• Assess a wide range of complex damages
• Work closely with public adjusters
• Strong communication, negotiation, and diary management skills

• Compensation range: Field Property Cons II: $56,000 – $82,500, Field Property Sr Cons I: $65,600 – $98,200, Field Property Sr Cons II: $65,600 – $111,550
