About the role
Convergint is seeking a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Field Project Manager to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, programming, system start-up/check-out, certification, and related customer training on assigned Fire, Security, and/or Building Automation projects. They will also work with management and administrative project teams to ensure projects are effectively executed within contractual scope, budgeted cost, and time schedules.
Responsibilities
- Oversees overall site management of project(s) for successful and timely completion within budget and scope of work as required by the contract.
- Works with the Project Coordinator to prepare project installation plan and implement job procedures.
- Supervises Project Specialists, Installers, and subcontractors in the field.
- May perform managerial responsibilities including but not limited to: mentoring, coaching, and developing colleagues; planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Collaborates with the Project Coordinator to assist in the overall coordination of specific projects; makes recommendations regarding potential changes in scope and identifies ways to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
- Identifies potential project risks, communicates to appropriate parties, and assists in the development and implementation of strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
- Responsible for overall quality of the installation in accordance with national and local codes, and company standards.
- Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
- Acts as the primary technical support and training interface for the customer, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong supervision skills and installation experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
- Self-starter with the ability to work well without supervision.
- Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude, including working with a variety of hand and power tools, reading blueprints and drawings, and advanced math skills.
- Frequent visits to jobsites and minimal overnight travel required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Qualifications
- Education: College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant field service experience.
- Product-specific certifications, industry-specific certifications, and/or licenses, software house, lenel, genetec, avigilon, amag, milestone, onssi, axis.
