About the Role

Moss' Solar Electrical Field Project Engineers assist the Electrical Assistant and Electrical Project Manager in the administrative and technical management of large utility-scale Solar projects. They support supervising activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, and scheduling. This role requires a positive attitude and adaptability to interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates project start-up by reviewing owner contracts, assisting with startup checklists and site utilization plans, coordinating mobilization, assisting with subcontractor and vendor selection, identifying critical issues and milestones, finalizing Prolog set-up, participating in construction schedule development, and conducting subcontractor project orientation.
• Expedites materials by developing submittal logs, establishing fabrication and delivery schedules, confirming material deliveries, conducting submittal/SD review processes, reviewing coordination drawings, monitoring off-site stored materials, coordinating owner-furnished materials, and verifying fabrication status.
• Coordinates construction activities by strategizing with the Superintendent, conducting subcontractor pre-construction meetings, maintaining activity tracking logs, participating in schedule updates, conducting quality control inspections, verifying field installations, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating material storage, participating in daily superintendent and jobsite meetings, maintaining material expediting logs, coordinating project team visits, and assisting with agency inspections.
• Facilitates project administration by expediting subcontractor and vendor agreements, assisting with insurance and bond agreements, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, managing check-hold lists, maintaining jobsite files, processing progress photos, assisting with project status reports, coordinating with project staff, maintaining Prolog, generating correspondence, administering the RFI process, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Tracks project costs by processing subcontractor and vendor pay requests, assisting with owner payment tracking, tracking subcontractor back charges, and updating labor cost reports.
• Supports the change order process by creating change requests, reviewing scope changes, determining schedule impacts, issuing owner notifications, expediting subcontractor and vendor pricing, preparing cost proposals, and negotiating proposal costs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Six months to one year minimum Solar internship or full-time experience as a project engineer, assistant project engineer, or electrical foreman in the construction industry.
• Strong computer skills, including familiarity with construction project management applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface with owners' representatives, A/E teams, building departments, and other team members.
• Basic finance skills.

Physical Demands

This position requires frequent physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and may occasionally handle heavier loads with assistance.
