As a Field Project Engineer, you will provide technical and project coordination support for industrial construction projects, helping ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution. This role supports project planning, scheduling, procurement, cost control, document management, and field operations while serving as a key link between project management, field teams, subcontractors, and clients.

Day in the life

Your day will involve supporting industrial construction projects from the office and the field to help keep work progressing safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will review engineering drawings, specifications, submittals, and project documentation while coordinating closely with project managers, field supervision, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. Responsibilities include maintaining project records, tracking materials and procurement activities, supporting scheduling and cost control efforts, participating in safety and quality initiatives, and assisting with project reporting and change management. You will help resolve technical questions, communicate project information between stakeholders, and contribute practical solutions to construction and operational challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, or the ability to obtain certification
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in construction, engineering, or project support roles
  • Experience with project scheduling, cost control, budgeting, or forecasting activities
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, technical specifications, and field operations
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and construction project management or scheduling software
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
