Field Project Engineer

Responsibilities
- Visit fabrication sub-contractors to monitor project progress, verify quality, and ensure work is being completed according to engineering drawings and project specifications.
- Cook with fabrication vendors, project managers, engineering, and customers to maintain project schedules and resolve issues.
- Perform quality inspections during fabrication and document project status.
- Travel to customer sites to oversee equipment installation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during installation.
- Work closely with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Prepare field reports, punch lists, and project documentation.
- Provide technical support to engineering, manufacturing, and sales as needed.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with customer and company safety requirements.
Requirements
- Experience with industrial equipment installation, fabrication, manufacturing, or field service.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of industrial equipment.
- Experience supporting equipment installation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently while effectively coordinating multiple projects.
- Willingness to travel approximately 75%, including overnight travel throughout North America.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport for occasional international travel, if required.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
Skills
