Field Product Specialist / Field Application Engineer (Teradyne, Austin, TX)
About the role
The Field Product Specialist (FPS) connects customer challenges with Teradyne solutions to drive growth. You’ll partner with Sales, Marketing, Applications, and Engineering to shape proposals, influence product direction, and help customers succeed.
Responsibilities
- Build trusted technical relationships with customer engineering teams.
- Identify opportunities, articulate value, and help drive wins.
- Cook up cross-functional experts to design and deliver customer solutions.
- Provide customer-driven input on positioning and product/engineering roadmaps.
- Share feedback with factory and engineering to improve roadmap and execution.
Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years in SoC validation/test (e.g., test development, DFT, or test-enablement tools).
- Experience with leading-edge SoC ATE (Teradyne and/or Advantest).
- Customer-first mindset; able to build relationships across customer and internal teams.
- Ownership mindset; collaborate, prioritize, and drive closure.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Competitive benchmarking experience is a plus.
- Growth mindset and interest in customer-facing work.
- Must be able to carry auto liability or minimum insurance due to automotive responsibilities.
- Experience with (or interest in learning): Silicon technology fundamentals and DFT, Test program generation and debug, Digital plus DC/power test techniques, Manufacturing test, Advanced packaging technologies, C#/.NET (helpful, not required).

Pay
The base salary range for this role is $155,000 - $248,100. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
