About the Role
Coordinates the implementation of transmission or distribution vegetation management in cooperation with Eversource Arborists and other parties. Provides work direction to contractors performing vegetation management, ensuring customer service, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Acts as the Company’s primary field contact for vegetation management while work is being performed. The position is assigned a distinct geographic area and/or transmission rights-of-way (ROW).
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and schedules vegetation management, landscaping, and line clearance tree work within the Eversource service area.
- Oversees field performance of vegetation maintenance; schedules emergency line clearing when hazards are reported or observed.
- Consults with town, state, and water company officials, environmental groups, and property owners on proposed work and techniques.
- Performs contractor performance reviews and establishes prioritized schedules within budget guidelines.
- Available for emergency restoration events across the Eversource system.
- Transmission:
- Provides technical expertise to Eversource teams regarding scopes of work and completion methods.
- Coordinates ROW vegetation management in accordance with the Transmission Vegetation Management Plan and federal regulations.
- Conducts walk-downs with contractors to identify operational requirements, environmental sensitivities, and best management practices (BMPs).
- Reviews past problems and special constraints; coordinates with Transmission Engineering and Construction on vegetation clearing efforts.
- Prepares estimates for scheduled work and capital clearing projects; determines resource requirements.
- Reviews contractor schedules to identify and mitigate issues; performs quality control to ensure adherence to contract specifications.
- Participates in project meetings and provides weekly progress updates.
- Distribution:
- Monitors contractor performance; ensures improvements or dismissal if necessary.
- Addresses customer complaints and ensures work is accomplished cost-effectively and on budget.
- Manages contractor crew activities, analyzing productivity and effectiveness.
- Utilizes Work Management Systems to manage workload and budget.
- Reviews monthly variances to assess operational effectiveness and validate data.
- Ensures timely review and authorization of contractor invoices.
- Provides advice on arboricultural practices, plant health, and pesticide use under applicable licenses.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Forestry, Arboriculture, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in utility forestry/arboriculture or related disciplines.
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license.
Working Conditions
- Must be available for emergency restoration assignments as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA, CT, and NH as necessary.

Pay
Annual salary range: $71,580.00–$79,530.00. This position is eligible for a potential incentive.
