About the role
The Field Operations Manager will oversee and coordinate construction activities across multiple projects, leading the planning, execution, and completion of projects within time and budget. This role requires coordination with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to align schedules and deliverables, while also overseeing resource allocation.
Responsibilities
- Lead project planning and execution, coordinating with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to align schedules and deliverables.
- Oversee resource allocation, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain operational oversight, monitoring and evaluating company operations to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices, tracking project KPIs and reporting performance to senior management.
- Recruit, train, and manage operations staff, site teams, and subcontractors, promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Implement quality control standards and supervise compliance at all project sites, conducting site inspections and risk assessments.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and legal requirements in construction operations.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and key decisions.
- Support the business development team in preparing bids and project proposals.
- Monitor project budgets and financial forecasts, approving procurement of construction materials and services.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and minimize operational inefficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in building/vertical construction operations, preferably in New York City, with at least 5 years in a Senior managerial role.
- Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, safety regulations, and project management methodologies.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, Procore).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
