Field Mechanic III

About the role

Marine Systems, Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic III for our Houma, LA location. This role focuses on learning and developing mechanical skills while working in a field service environment under the direction of senior mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Learn job safety and maintain safe working conditions, including using Stop Work Responsibility to halt unsafe acts.
• Learn proper rigging and material handling techniques.
• Assist with equipment disassembly and reassembly under supervision.
• Learn parts identification, handling, and application using parts and maintenance manuals.
• Study engine/gear applications and systems, including air, fuel, water, and oil.
• Learn torque values, weights, and the use of the “I expense” system for job-related expenses.
• Follow service job protocols and complete time cards/time sheets accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Safety

• Develop relationships with coworkers to understand processes and culture impacting safety.
• Influence safety by evaluating performance, participating in safety meetings, and targeting improvement areas.
• Report safety observations, including near misses.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the Safe Work Policy.
