About the role

CEC is one of the top specialty subcontractors in the country. With our rapid growth, we’re looking for passionate, talented, and creative individuals to join our team as a Field Logistics Coordinator. This role is responsible for coordinating and managing the job site logistics process within commercial and industrial settings, including the management of deliveries to and from job sites and data entry of the tool inventory system. This position may oversee a team of up to 10 field logistics professionals and manage site logistics operations. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective operations and customer service.
• Coach and train onsite logistics teams and instill best practices regarding onsite logistics and productivity.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
• Establish priorities for a small crew across multiple areas of operations.
• Work as a leader within the company’s supply chain to ensure all established practices are followed.
• Provide material handling support to assigned areas of the job site.
• Assist projects with the execution of a project-specific site logistics plan.
• Coordinate with off-site construction, warehousing, and outside suppliers to ensure that all material and tooling requirements for a given project are met.
• Support remobilization of crews, allowing construction operation crews to continue providing value-added install.
• Develop systems and procedures to allow for the highest level of productivity and safest execution of tasks.
• Understand, plan, and execute on-site requirements through meeting attendance, available drawings, and collaboration with other trades and onsite leadership.
• Coordinate with project leadership to identify opportunities for continuous improvement through off-site construction usage, value-added services, and onsite logistics.
• Manage logistics key performance indicators and report these to appropriate leaders.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of logistics processes and Lean techniques.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects, and smooth operation of the department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years of Warehouse, Supply Chain, or Logistics experience.
• Experience in construction or a related field.
• Willingness to travel from 0% - 100% of the time to various locations across the U.S. in support of jobsite logistic operations.

Skills

• Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing tools and general construction materials.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a drug and background check.

Work Environment

The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings with possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, rain, heat, cold, and snow. This position requires work at extreme heights, in areas under construction, or in restricted areas such as switchgear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, or attics. Work may also occur in confined spaces and on slippery or uneven surfaces, including ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, ditches, and excavations. Employees may work in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
• Lift 51 pounds routinely.
• Constantly move about on feet.
• Climb ladders of all types.
• Complete full-day assignments involving overhead work.
• Transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by OSHA-approved site construction ladders or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use.
• Secure tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
• Good vision, normal or corrected, including close vision, distance vision, color vision (to discern color-coded wires), peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Good hearing, normal or corrected.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.
• Work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, with overtime as required, including night shifts, weekends, and flexible work hours to meet project deadlines.
• Work in the presence of customers and their representatives with minimal interference or disruption while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
