Field Investigator
About the role
The Labor Commissioner’s Office (LCO) is a dynamic agency dedicated to protecting California workers. The Bureau of Enforcement Program (BOFE), Labor Employment Task Force (LETF), and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) unit are key components of this mission.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and enforce state laws covering workers' compensation insurance coverage, child labor, cash pay, unlicensed contractors, and Industrial Welfare Commission orders.
- Collaborate with other government entities on the investigation and prosecution of group claims involving minimum wage and overtime.
- Conduct onsite investigations to gather evidence and interview witnesses to prove or disprove allegations of wage theft.
- Travel for field operations and training sessions.
Requirements
Bilingual speaking candidates are encouraged to apply. Must be willing to work before/after hours and able to travel.
Qualifications

Skills
Strong investigative skills, ability to conduct interviews, knowledge of labor laws, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
