About the role

Mesa Power Solutions is a fast-growing U.S. manufacturer delivering reliable, responsible power systems to industrial markets. The Inventory Specialist oversees and manages the handling of equipment, materials, and inventory needs for the field shops.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the inventory use and consumption of the shop location.
  • Ensures the parts for the technicians are on hand and technicians are recording correct part numbers to their service orders.
  • Follows up to check the correct part numbers are then consumed on work orders through NAV.
  • Help identify critical shortages in inventory to eliminate expedited shipping and help with supply runs.
  • Maintain close communication with shop technicians as well as the other inventory specialist in their location.
  • Conduct regular inventories of his/her location, identify and solve problems with stock with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with the shop and chain of command to correct problems as they arise.
  • Act as a main point of contact for all inventory related issues including damages and warranty process.
  • Record any discrepancies and communicate with peers to find solutions to problems as they arise.
  • This will include missing inventory, incorrect part consumption, warranty, damages, and critical shortages in their location.
  • Provides employees in the location with the most accurate information on parts being taken to shop technicians and what is outstanding to be consumed.
  • Recognize problems and try to work through them while ensuring the chain of communication is open to the procurement team at HQ.
  • Maintain positive relationships with their vendors and partners in the shop and field.
  • Identify needs of the shop technicians, running errands, keeping organized work areas, and ensuring correct part numbers are being consumed.
  • Act as a support role for the technicians and operations in the shop and at headquarters.
  • Stock product in stock locations, keeping a clean and organized work space for all.
  • Labels all inventory item locations and makes them easily accessible to ensure the correct parts are readily available.
  • Organizing shop, yard, and parts to provide easy access to parts and other items required to complete shop work.
  • Communicate any discrepancies in inventory quickly and accurately with appropriate contact in house and at headquarters.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all shop needs, no technician in the shop should be grabbing inventory without associates knowledge.
  • Communicate inventory / accounting / operations related issues that may arise.
  • Reduce paper-work related mistakes consumed on Work Orders by service technicians.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School or GED.
  • Experience: 1 year of previous related experience. Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.
  • Certifications, Licenses & Registrations: Ability to obtain Crane and Forklift Certifications by the end of the probationary period. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of inventory management systems and practices. Understanding of part tracking and consumption within enterprise systems (e.g., NAV). Familiarity with warranty processes and damage reporting procedures. Knowledge of supply chain logistics, including shipping, receiving, and vendor coordination. Understanding of shop operations and technician support requirements. Skill in maintaining organized, clean, and efficient inventory and shop environments. Skill in conducting physical inventories and identifying discrepancies. Effective communication skills to coordinate with technicians, vendors, and headquarters. Skill in problem-solving related to missing, damaged, or misused inventory. Attention to detail when labeling, stocking, and documenting parts and materials. Ability to accurately record, track, and verify part numbers and service order consumption. Skill in relationship building with shop staff, vendors, and operations personnel. Ability to oversee and manage inventory usage and consumption with minimal supervision. Ability to identify critical shortages and anticipate inventory needs to reduce delays. Ability to act as a central point of contact for all inventory-related matters. Ability to maintain real-time communication and escalate issues when necessary. Ability to support both shop and field operations by ensuring accurate, timely parts availability. Ability to proactively recognize and resolve issues while maintaining open communication channels. Ability to reduce paperwork-related errors through oversight and follow-up with service technicians. Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read in English.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a WorkSTEPS physical.
  • Willing to consent to and pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Less than 3 Direct Reports.
