About the Role
Inspects and ensures compliance of Operations Support Services Contracts including janitorial, uniform, LRV and Bus cleaning, and waste disposal contracts for Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART's) Operations Engineering department. Monitors and enforces contract compliance for multiple contracts.
Responsibilities
- Performs complex duties related to the technical area of assignment and is responsible for complex operations and maintenance projects.
- Inspects field-operating services, including LRV and Bus Cleaning, Mainline touch-point disinfecting, facility janitorial, waste mechanical disposal functionality, and contract compliance.
- Writes maintenance work orders for repair, service, and/or replacement actions as necessary for all field operating facilities; monitors and enforces work order actions ensuring completion of required work in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Manages various service contracts for maintenance, including but not limited to: pest control, janitorial, uniforms, batteries, HVAC emergency services, and LRV & Bus Cleaning and Disinfecting Services.
- Receives, reviews, and approves contractors’ invoices to ensure accurate billing; posts and maintains account payable ledgers for contract fiduciary accountability.
- Writes contract and procedural specifications and updates contracts and statements of work as required.
- Investigates and handles accidents, including maintenance of records necessary to implement safety programs.
- Recognizes trends, identifies problems, and recommends action to correct problems.
- Prepares statistical analysis and interprets results.
- Interfaces with City Inspectors and Code Enforcement Officials on matters of Code Enforcement, city ordinances, and cooperative work efforts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Technology, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
- Five (5) years progressively responsible technical experience in facility maintenance inspection activities, including mechanical, electrical, and structural inspection.
- Two (2) years supervisory experience.
- Valid Driver License class C with:
- No Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) conviction within the last sixty (60) consecutive months.
- Not more than one (1) DWI on driving record.
- Not more than three (3) convictions of moving violations within the last thirty-six (36) consecutive months.
- Must pass a physical (medical) examination, including a drug screen, to operate DART non-revenue vehicles.
- Proficient with a personal computer (PC) and software applications such as Windows, word processing, spreadsheet, and database.
- Familiarity with standard office equipment such as copier, calculator, typewriter, and facsimile.
Working Conditions
Works in an environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions, including dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming all safety policies, procedures, and protective measures are followed.
Pay
$58,832.00 - $97,073.00
