Field HSE Manager

National salary range: $70,000 - $115,000. California range: $70,304 - $115,000. Washington range: $80,169 - $115,000.

About the role

Manages the planning, administration, training, and enforcement of the facility’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program to ensure compliance with all company policies and local, state, and federal regulations at larger, more complex sites. Identifies hazards, assesses risk, and provides guidance on accident prevention and occupational health to management and employees. May manage on-site Safety Supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Promote occupational health and safety awareness throughout the assigned facility.
• Coach management on their HSE responsibilities.
• Conduct or oversee ongoing safety inspections of facilities, operations, and equipment to ensure compliance and a safe working environment for associates.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Manage the implementation of standard HSE support using common tools provided by the Operations Excellence HSE Team.
• Ensure all necessary HSE training is completed by all site associates, including new hire safety training and other required on-site HSE trainings for both hourly and management associates.
• Review and update all Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for each role within the assigned site.
• Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis for sites, and provide steps for corrective action to site management and the Functional Safety Team.
• Provide input and assist the Regional and/or Campus HSE Managers with Safety Improvement Plan implementations.
• Assist the Regional or Campus HSE Manager with start-ups, as necessary.
• Monitor and provide expertise and assistance on the Logics Incident Module.
• Identify improvement opportunities and put forth solutions/recommendations to continually support site improvement.
• Actively participate on assigned teams and/or projects, including the site Health & Safety Committee and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in environmental, safety, industrial hygiene, or related field or equivalent experience (1-3 years of direct/dedicated safety experience), required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in environmental, safety, industrial hygiene, or related field, preferred.
• 1+ years of Safety experience (e.g., administration of site-based OSHA/DOT programs), required.
• 1+ years supervisory experience, required.
• Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) Certification or equivalent, preferred.
