Field Hockey - Junior Varsity (Head)

About the role

The Head Field Hockey Coach will be responsible for leading the Junior Varsity team at First Colonial High School. The coach will work closely with the Principal and School Administrative Committee (SAC) to ensure the team's success and adherence to school policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a coaching strategy that aligns with the school’s mission and values.
• Manage team practices and games, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.
• Work with the varsity coach to provide a seamless transition for players moving up in grade levels.
• Attend meetings and events as required by the school administration.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in physical education or a related field.
• At least three years of successful coaching experience at the high school level.
• Experience with field hockey or a similar sport.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Virginia high school athletic rules and regulations.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
