Field Equipment Technician
About the role
Technicians/Mechanics are essential to our Material Handling Group, providing the tools and resources needed to succeed. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing various types of equipment, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment
- Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient, and professional manner
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Work and manage workloads independently
- Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Two years of previous forklift repair experience, including military experience with relevant MOS/NEC codes
- Previous field experience is highly preferable
- Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane units
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Possess own tools
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
- Intermediate reading and writing skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow instructions and apply common sense
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands
- Frequently talk/hear, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally lift up to 10 pounds, 11 to 25 pounds, and from 26 to 100 plus pounds
- Regularly work near moving mechanical parts, exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration
Compensation
Compensation range: $28.00 to $43.00 per hour. Overall compensation is determined based on factors such as geographical location, skillset, education, and experience.
