Field Engineering Specialist - Southern New Jersey

About the role

Roche Support Network is dedicated to providing exceptional support to customers. As a Field Engineering Specialist, you will travel and showcase your expertise in technical repair and installation for Roche assigned product lines, offer valuable service to laboratory customers in your assigned territory, and serve as a customer contact for technical and service-related issues. The role involves routine technical support, on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products, performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures, documenting all activities, contributing to quality improvement, and focusing on maximizing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites and perform technical repair and installation for Roche assigned product lines
• Provide on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products
• Perform preventative maintenance on Roche systems
• Serve as primary customer contact for technical and service-related issues
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures
• Document all service activities thoroughly
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
• Focus on maximizing customer satisfaction

Requirements

• High school diploma and 2 years of technical school, or equivalent military training or work experience
• 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 1–2 years of progressive experience
• Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy
• Ability to travel daily with up to 20% overnight travel (potentially more during training period)
• Willingness to work Monday–Friday with weekend rotation and on-call responsibilities
• Reside within 20 miles of Princeton, NJ

Preferred qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience
• Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry
• Ability to serve as an internal technical resource
• Willingness to provide support after hours, on weekends, and on holidays
• Strong customer relationship management skills

Work schedule

Monday–Friday with weekend rotation and on-call duties.

Travel & location

This is a field-based role requiring daily travel and up to 20% overnight travel (potentially more during the training period). The ideal candidate resides within 20 miles of Princeton, NJ. Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of New Jersey is $71,100–132,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
