Field Engineering Specialist - Salt Lake City, Utah
About the role
As a Field Engineering Specialist in the Roche Support Network, you will travel to provide exceptional technical repair and installation support for Roche-assigned product lines. You will serve laboratory customers in your assigned territory by offering routine technical support, on-site service, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of Roche products. This role involves diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures, documenting all activities, contributing to quality improvement, and maximizing customer satisfaction. You will also serve as the primary customer contact for technical and service-related issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical support, repair, and installation of Roche products.
- Perform preventative maintenance on assigned product lines.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures.
- Document all service activities and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Act as a customer contact for technical and service-related issues.
- Travel routinely, including overnight travel, within the assigned territory.
Requirements
- High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience.
- 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 1-2 years of progressive experience.
- Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.
- Ability to travel, including overnight travel, up to 60% of the time.
- Ideal candidate lives within the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience.
- Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry.
- Ability to serve as an internal technical resource and provide support after hours, on weekends, and holidays.
- Strong customer relationship management skills.
Pay
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Utah is $71,100 to $132,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
