Field Engineer Intern
About the role
FlatironDragados' Intern Program provides challenging and rewarding work opportunities for college students majoring in Civil Engineering and Construction Management. As an Intern, you will apply your academic training and skills in a real-world setting at project locations. You will assist the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and on-site construction staff in applying engineering technology principles, methods, and techniques.
Field Engineer Interns will need a working knowledge of the entire project, including plan interpretation, project specifications, project cost code knowledge, and the overall construction schedule. You will support corporate policies, set a productive work example, and follow up on assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with evaluation of field conditions and acceptance testing
- Support quality assurance and quality control engineering materials testing
- Apply survey knowledge to assist with project layout and checking of work to confirm conformance with plans and specifications
- Review project drawings and coordinate design changes
- Provide document control assistance for correspondence, submittals, and design releases
- Initiate engineering design clarifications
- Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis to maximize operational efficiency
- Assist with preparing and updating the project schedule and interact with all involved in scheduling decisions
- Respond to field requests for design clarification
- Manage subcontractors' field operations and verify contract payments
- Provide design assistance to the project engineer for temporary structures using computer-aided design tools
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an Engineering, Construction Management, or similar program at an accredited technical college or university

Pay
USD $25.00–$29.00 per hour
