About the role

Field Engineer (FE) is responsible for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of our client's products. When not in the field, the FE will support production, testing, logistics, and customers at our Phoenix facility and office. This is a full-time role with approximately 60% of time in the office and 40% of time on wind and solar project sites across the United States. International travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Production Facility & Field

  • Install, commission and service equipment on wind and solar project sites
  • Assemble equipment, conduct visual inspections, conduct Factory Acceptance Tests, ensure Quality Control (QC)
  • Package and prepare equipment for deployment to site
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting and repairs on electro-mechanical systems in the field and facility
  • Identify and recommend process improvements and support implementation
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company/industry best practices
  • Safely operate and care for client and company property, equipment, and tools
  • Operate as part of a safe, effective, efficient team

Office

  • Work with customers, suppliers, internal team and partners on project details and deadlines to ensure all requirements are achieved
  • Prepare safety documentation, installation and O&M manuals, checklists and commissioning reports
  • Support inventory management, logistics, and material handling
  • Communicate with internal team(s) on supplies and project requirements

Requirements

  • 1-3 years minimum work experience required
  • Bachelor Degree preferred - Engineering, STEM or other related disciplines
  • Knowledge of solar and wind energy systems is a plus
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical environments
  • Workshop, assembly or fabrication experience is a plus
  • NFPA 70e Safety Training, OSHA 30/10, LO/TO, and QEW certification(s) are a plus
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions with high attention to detail
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated and reliable with the ability to work independently and on a team
  • Valid U.S. driver's license

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to work in outdoor and remote environments, including extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to work at height or difficult-to-access areas
