Field Engineer
About the role
The Field Engineer (FE) position is designed to support the Superintendent in field management tasks, including project layout, supervision of trades, and quality control. This role is foundational for advancement to Office Engineer or Project Engineer positions.
Responsibilities
- Project layout (surveying) in compliance with design and contract documents.
- Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including embedded items, before placement of concrete.
- Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work in place and prepare weekly and monthly schedule and cost control reports.
- Aid in quality control, site safety initiatives, and coordination of trade partners as directed by the project superintendent.
- Coordinate material deliveries, inspect materials, direct workforce, and participate in safety meetings.
- Collaborate with the VDC team on field operations, reviewing 3D models, and executing VDC scope of work.
Requirements
- A 4-year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer software: Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel-based templates, ProjectSight, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Past internships in the construction industry.

- Must complete substance abuse screening and physical exam (if applicable).
- Must pass background checks for badging/security clearances (if applicable).
