Field Electronics Technician (Nuclear)

Opportunity Overview

This position is a travel position to different plants for outage work, plant updates and may include out of the country travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform work of equal or lower skill level as required.
• Perform a variety of Electro-mechanical projects and assignments, following established procedures under the supervision of higher classified technicians and professionals.
• Develop an awareness of ALARA principles, specific security requirements, and the importance of observing both the Westinghouse and customer license requirements.
• Complete basic and introductory training on all equipment, machines, and procedures required in the Machinist Electronics Technician Levels 1 & 2 criteria certification.
• Perform quality work during the fabrication, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment as defined in the work standard for the job.
• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, inspect, repair, basic mechanical, electrical, welding, and hydraulic equipment. Work areas are often confined, and under poor conditions.
• Exercise skill and proficiency in the use of basic hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical equipment.
• Operate machine tools, electrical test equipment, welding equipment, and measuring devices in the fabrication, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and maintenance of tools and equipment to the level of proficiency required in the Electronics Technician Levels 1 & 2 Criteria of Certification.
• Read and interrupt mechanical and electrical schematics, drawings and blueprints. Record data in required form.
• Perform service responsibilities.
• Demonstrate good housekeeping practices in work areas.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2 Years post high school degree or diploma or military training in electrical or electronics.
• 3 + years of electronics experience troubleshooting & Repair.
• Travel Required.
• Commitment to Safety.

Physical Requirements

• Lift 50-60 lbs.
• Work 12 hour schedule on nights or days as assigned.
• Periodically work 6-7 days per week on site assignment.

Pay

The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $32/hour to $42/hour.
