Field Electrician (Traveling)

Duties

  • Install, terminate, and test distribution panels, disconnects, conduit, wire, and other equipment for ACP systems.
  • Install, assess, troubleshoot, and repair ACP equipment and CCTV systems.
  • Cook up with Site Superintendent, Project Managers, Client representatives and other personnel to safely conduct installations, maintenance and service actions while minimizing operational impacts.
  • Install and execute repairs on ACP equipment using checklists, drawings and specifications, manufacturer’s guidance, and technical expertise.
  • Provide daily reports on equipment condition, services performed, and additional work needed.
  • Develop material / equipment lists and labor estimates for new installations and to correct deficiencies.
  • Draft and organize electronic documentation following each installation or repair visit, including compiling receipts, reviewing completed checklists, obtaining Client approval signature(s), composing technician reports, and other close-out documents.
  • Operate in a safe manner and coordinate maintenance of a service vehicle.

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Experience as a Field Service Technician or Electrician on industrial systems, motors, and drives. Advanced skill at bending / installing conduit highly desired.
  • Ability to read schematics and single-line drawings.
  • Familiarity with high voltage circuits up to 480 VAC and low voltage controls (12-24 VDC).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test to permit access to military installations and similar controlled areas.
  • Desired: electrical certification / licensing.
  • Desired: heavy equipment operator (forklift, lull, man lift).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds to waist level.

Additional Information

  • 85% or more travel, typically for two (2) to three (3) weeks at a time to project sites across the United States.
  • Employee will be given a company credit card for approved expenses (e.g. hotel, fuel, tools, and materials).
  • A fixed per diem to cover meals and incidental expenses will also be provided.
  • Hands-on and other training opportunities available to augment skills and increase proficiency with a wide variety of security equipment.
