About the role
The Field Education Business Manager (FEBM), Key Accounts role is to develop and execute strategic education initiatives that drive long-term business growth within national and regional key account partners. This role leverages education as a business-building tool to strengthen customer partnerships, accelerate brand adoption, increase consumption, and support mutually beneficial growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Create annual education plans for each account to build strong relationships with customers and deliver objectives through education and drive vertical and horizontal distribution across all customer types.
- Work cross-functionally to secure the appropriate resources to execute best-in-class education plans, organize, and ensure delivery of education training and events to increase/generate sales of Wella brands.
- Partner with Sales to leverage education as a key business driver across all customer types and business models.
- Coach and mentor customer Brand Educators when necessary to ensure "Best in Class" Education is delivered to our customers.
- Manage budget for seminars, travel & entertainment, and office supplies/samples.
- Show business savvy and have the ability and desire to grow the business via sales. Stay up-to-date with trends, current thinking, and new news within the beauty industry.
- Be versatile, able to adjust to changing situations and manage ambiguity. Find new improvement opportunities and generate ways to get better results.
- Develop and maintain productive relations with others and build trusting relationships with business partners. Build effective networks both internally and externally for learning, sharing, and benchmarking.
- Act as an owner of the business and deliver results. Create action plans and follow through to achieve exceptional results. Stay informed with trends, current thinking, and issues within the professional beauty hair industry.
- Attend regional and company training for further craft and career development.
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology license
- Minimum 5 years of hairdressing experience behind the chair
- Minimum 3 years of facilitation, teaching, or presentation experience
- Professional and fashionable image
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and, at times, extended hours
- Ability to transport education presentation materials, sample cases, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of the Beauty and HD industry and local marketplace
- Commercially and sales savvy to coach salon & school owners/managers on business strategy & development
- Strong industry competitor awareness - with focus on color
- Structured, solution-oriented thinking with very strong analytical and strategic abilities
- Leading by example, self-initiative and proactive
- In-depth knowledge of Online/Offline Education
- Proficient English skills (in writing and verbally), bilingual Spanish in specific markets
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PPT, Excel) and Apple (iPad/apps)
- Proficient with relevant digital/SoMe platforms: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc. to influence customer engagement
- Min. 60% travel time (incl. overnight travel)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel long distances (by air and car)
