Field Data Technician - Western

Overview

Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. specializes in providing services to the electric utility and telecommunications industries on a national scale. We are currently seeking candidates for Field Data Technicians in the Southeast United States area.

Responsibilities

• Collect detailed technical information about electric utility and telecommunication facilities and equipment in an outdoor environment.
• Measure attachment heights, span distances, angles, and other relevant data for engineering and design purposes.
• Organize and submit detailed data for each project, including maps, field notes, and digital images.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as tablet computers, digital cameras, measuring tools, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Communicate effectively and on a daily basis with the project management team.
• Work safely and independently of supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of pole design including NESC requirements and general safety practices is a plus.
• Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather and have the desire to actively participate in physically demanding work lifting 15 to 20 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Basic proficiency with computers including the ability to read, interpret, and follow GPS maps.
• Able to follow process specifications and guidelines in an extremely high-quality, high-paced environment.
• Able to travel and work outside in variable terrain and weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills; both written and oral.
• Present a professional appearance and attitude.
• Demonstrate high work standards and attention to detail with a quality orientation.
• Minimum 1 year of outdoor work-related experience.
• Minimum 1 year working in a role that required following a safety program or safety protocols (must provide details).
• Minimum 6 months experience working in a quality-controlled environment (must provide details).
• Minimum 6 months experience traveling to various work locations to include occasional overnight stays.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Pay

$22/hour plus opportunity for hourly bonus with weekly pay!

Plus hotel expenses, contract specific pay increase, living allowance and $4-$5/hour untaxed reimbursement for vehicle usage.

Schedule

This position requires routine overnight travel typically 1-2 weeks at a time away from home. Home most weekends with occasional out of state assignments which may involve longer stays of up to a month at a time if needed.
