Field Coordinator

About the role

As the Field Coordinator, you will oversee all activities related to projects and personnel assigned to your team or region. You will collaborate with the VP of Construction, Field Teams, and Project Teams to ensure operational success.

Responsibilities

• Ensure team members understand expectations, hold them accountable for performance, provide regular feedback, and conduct development conversations.
• Delegate appropriate tasks and provide timely, meaningful recognition.
• Assist the Vice President of Field Operations in hiring new staff members (hiring discussions occur at Field Coordinator meetings).
• Train team members in proper estimating, scheduling, and construction management techniques.
• Assist in the employee evaluation process and make compensation recommendations.
• Terminate team members (layoffs or firings) when appropriate, with direct involvement and approval from the Vice President of Field Operations (termination issues discussed at Field Coordinator meetings).
• Participate significantly in presentations to prospective clients.
• Engage in past and continuing client contact programs.
• Assist project management in the proposal stage with scheduling and budgeting.
• Ensure every project has an assigned individual with "bottom line" responsibility.
• Review all estimates generated within the team for completeness and competitiveness.
• Ensure all team members use appropriate "Ryan Tools" consistently with construction department methods.
• Maximize profit on each project while aligning with Ryan’s long-term interests.
• Ensure proper cost control techniques are used on all projects.
• Enforce proper communication and documentation procedures on all projects.
• Ensure projects are closed out properly and punchlist work is completed timely.
• Maintain current accounts payable and receivable for all assigned projects.
• Assist project team members in approval and monitoring of subcontractors.
• Train subordinates on new and existing computer programs.
• Stay current on regional union issues, review, and approve project labor agreements.
• Prepare monthly reports for the Vice President of Field Operations on project statuses.
• Actively participate in periodic Field Manager/Field Coordinator meetings and support decisions made.
• Work on special projects pertaining to the division as a whole.
• Assist the Vice President of Field Operations in project and personnel assignments and workload monitoring.
• Support the accomplishment of field operation "Action Plans."
• Remain current with new developments in the construction industry and communicate them to team members.
