Field Construction Technician NON DOT
About the role
We're recruiting for a Field Construction Technician to be part of our team providing high-quality Tuff Shed products.
Responsibilities
Warranty, Service, & Delivery
- Assists in the safe delivery of Tuff Shed storage buildings to Home Depot stores, customer properties, and retail sales lots
- Performs customer service warranty repair tasks on customer sites effectively, efficiently and with courtesy and within the scheduled timeframe
- Provides feedback to management team – determining whether concerns are covered warranty issues that can be resolved but chargeable or a completion issue
Sales & Customer Service
- Delivers excellent customer service when dealing with Tuff Shed current (and prospective) customers
- Affords assistance with off-site special events such as Home Shows
- Affords assistance with upkeep of HD displays and marketing materials
Vehicle and Driving responsibilities
- Informs the OM of service/maintenance requirements for Tuff Shed vehicle
Reports defective, worn, or inoperable tools (electric, pneumatic, consumables, extension cords, air hoses, etc) to Management in a timely manner
- Affords assurance that vehicle’s GPS device remains connected and operable at all times
Requirements
General knowledge of the construction industry, basic carpentry skills, basic roofing skills, and basic painting skills
Ability to read a tape measure, working drawings, and speed square
Ability to operate air compressors, air tools, hammer, saw, drill, and other basic power tools
Proven customer service and problem-solving skills
Ability to read, write and understand instructions given orally, in writing and/or in diagram form
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including customers, business partners, suppliers, co-workers, managers, and the general public
Experience driving a flatbed truck, box truck and/or towing trailers, unloading, and transporting materials is a plus
Experience as a “big box” delivery driver is a plus
Experience with vehicle inspections
Qualifications
