About the role

Field Area Managers oversee industrial water treatment systems in a specific region. They lead a team of Field Service Employees to ensure targets and objectives are met, involving project leadership, people management, customer interaction, and technical skills to grow Veolia’s services operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise 10 to 15 employees within a region to ensure proper scheduling and utilization.
  • Collaborate with CAPEX project managers to maintain clear communication for smooth and efficient operations.
  • Manage small projects, including Mobile Water Systems and Refurbishments.
  • Review and edit engineering drawings & P&IDs.
  • Implement changes to improve project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure stakeholders are updated on modifications to the project and contract timeline, as well as scheduling.
  • Anticipate potential issues, such as outages, technical difficulties, and additional customer needs, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Schedule field service personnel and coordinate with territory managers to allocate equipment and purchase materials; estimate time, cost, and resource needs for each task.
  • Administer policies in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Human Resources, and Fleet.
  • Assist in the career development and growth of Field Service Representatives.
  • Utilize data analysis and reporting to monitor contract performance.
  • Develop contract budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Manage operational and maintenance risks, escalating critical issues when needed.
  • Report project progress, staff utilization, and contract spend versus budget to leadership.
  • Administer Preventative Maintenance programs across various project lines and customer accounts, recording corrective maintenance actions.

Requirements

  • BS degree in a technical field (e.g., Chemistry, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering), OR five years’ experience and relevant leadership experience in industrial water, wastewater, or food & beverage water treatment solutions or related field.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Technical proficiency in understanding and addressing issues that affect Ultrapure Water Systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards.
  • Ability to read and redline engineering drawings and P&IDs.
  • Understanding of instrument controls.
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance activities, including permitting.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Tableau, and Salesforce.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Project Management; active training in Project Management coursework.
  • Six Sigma or Root Cause Analysis training.
  • Wastewater License.
  • Certifications or advanced degrees in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
  • Certifications or experience in Leadership.
  • Experience in water plant operations or maintenance.
