About the role
As the Field Applications Specialist for Leica Biosystems, you will provide in-field technical applications support for our current and “next generation” range of automated instrumentation and reagents, while achieving Leica regional sales and profitability goals within an assigned territory. This position is field-based and fully remote, reporting to the Field Applications Manager for your territory. You will support Core Histology customers in the Northeast area and help Leica achieve sales goals for Instrumentation and Consumables.
Responsibilities
- Support Leica in achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals for relevant product lines.
- Perform basic installation, evaluations, qualification, and optimization for instrumentation sold or evaluated in the region, with supervision or mentorship.
- Investigate technical applications in collaboration with Technical Service, Applications Technical Lead, Applications Manager, and Global Business Units.
- Respond to and document PMDRs (Post-Market Device Reports) on instrumentation, working with the Business Unit and customers on follow-up training as needed.
- Provide in-field post-purchase applications support and training for customers.
Requirements
- High school Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of Histology laboratory experience in a clinical, research, or industrial setting.
- Understanding of the Product-relevant Histology marketplace or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of experience in the optimization, operation, functionality, and support of both manual and automated core Histology and related products.
Travel and Physical Requirements
- Up to 75% flying and/or driving travel, which may include overnight stays (primarily domestic, occasionally international).
- Ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise, and/or place up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk (prolonged), sit, squat, kneel, ascend/descend stairs, and reach with hands and arms.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree.
- HT, HTL, or QIHC (ASCP) Certifications.

Pay
The annual salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000, with eligibility for bonus/incentive pay.
