About the role

This position provides solution-oriented consultative training, technical support, and troubleshooting at customer sites and remotely on bioMérieux’s diagnostic product lines. The Field Application Specialist I works with customers to achieve efficient implementation and go-live of new instrumentation, retains current customer business, and strengthens customer relationships to drive loyalty and positive referrals. The role collaborates with stakeholders to ensure prompt, accurate, and professional support that meets customer business needs while promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide technical training, consultation, and ongoing support for bioMérieux’s diagnostic product lines within the U.S. customer base.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain strong professional relationships with customers.
  • Answer internal and external customer inquiries, ensuring regulatory compliance through timely and accurate documentation in bioMérieux’s CRM system. Consult with Sales Partners, Application Specialists, Field/System Engineers, IT Resources, Management teams, and Local/Global Support Teams as needed.
  • Provide consistent follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and meet key performance indicators.
  • Manage territory efficiently within the operating expense budget and support bioMérieux revenue initiatives.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  • Extensive field travel is required (average 75%, including overnight stays).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, technical, or life science field required. MLS (ASCP) Certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience or equivalent required.
  • bioMérieux product experience preferred.
  • Experience with CLIA regulations and/or other laboratory credentialing standards preferred.
  • Experience with related technical field applications support strongly preferred.
  • Laboratory Information System (LIS) or Connectivity/Networking experience a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and similar structures.
  • Ability to wear PPE correctly for most of the day.
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Domestic travel: 75% of the time. International travel: 5% of the time (occasional).

Pay

The estimated salary range for this role is $77,300 - $105,700. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience. This role is eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMérieux’s bonus program.
