About the Role
Teradyne's Field Applications team is seeking a highly-motivated, energetic, and driven Field Application Engineer. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the team and independently to determine and develop imaginative, thorough, and practical application solutions for semiconductor testing.
Responsibilities
- Develop, debug, and deploy test solutions for Digital, High-Speed Digital, System on Chip, Mixed Signal, and Analog semiconductor devices.
- Test program software development, often in a collaborative environment.
- Design and review load board/probe card schematics and layouts for test solutions.
- Analyze problems and recommend solutions on Teradyne ATE platforms to optimize customer throughput.
- Work with test engineering customers to understand and improve test processes, including making recommendations to enhance test coverage quality.
- Release test solutions to production involving production handler and prober equipment, including correlation and gauge R&R.
- Discover customer requirements with a focus on:
- Conceptual design of hardware, software, and test cell integration.
- Electrical and mechanical hardware schematics.
- PCB and hardware design inputs and requirements for interface hardware.
- Develop new techniques and designs for characterizing and testing semiconductor devices.
- Demonstrate tester capability for customer evaluations.
- Assist customers on tester operation and capability.
- Provide training, technical exchanges, and technical papers.
- Develop strong customer relations at a technical level to gain insight into customer direction and needs.
- Understand ATE industry trends and competitive products (a plus).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related fields.
- 5-8 years of experience in semiconductor testing.
- Hands-on experience in IC component testing project development.
- Test/Product engineering experience in Digital, High-Speed Digital, High-Power Computing, System on Chip, Mixed Signal, or Analog testing and test development on ATE platforms.
- Development experience on Teradyne or other semiconductor ATE platforms (preferred), such as Teradyne UltraFlex/UltraFlexPlus/IG-XL, Eagle Test Systems/EV/EV-MST, Advantest V93K/SmarTest 7/SmarTest 8, or other test equipment.
- Knowledge of Visual Basic, C, C++, Java, or C#.NET programming.
- Proficiency in Windows and Excel.
- Handler and prober interface experience (a plus).
- Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
- Solid presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to teamwork and a “can-do” spirit.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both English and your native language.
- Proven technical record and strong relationship-building skills.
- Supervisory experience in leading teams (locally and globally) may qualify for a senior position.
- Ability to travel 25% or more, domestically and internationally.
- Must be able to carry auto liability or minimum insurance due to automotive responsibilities.
Pay
The base salary range for this role is $126,800–$202,800. The amount will correspond with experience and skill set and may fluctuate based on demand and location. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses based on financial performance.
