Field Application Engineer - IPS - Energy

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical expert for Delta's IPS portfolio, including UPS, PCS, AiO, BESS, PDUs, and STS.
• Support the sales team by providing technical presentations, product demonstrations, solution recommendations, and application engineering.
• Aid customers with system sizing, electrical design, power distribution, redundancy (N, N+1, 2N), battery runtime calculations, and system integration.
• Support commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, factory/site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), and post-installation technical support.
• Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, and Global Engineering to improve products and resolve customer issues.
• Develop technical documentation and deliver training for customers, partners, and internal teams.
• Travel up to 30% throughout North America for customer support, commissioning, and training.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's/Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience: 3–5+ years supporting UPS systems, PCS, AiO solutions, BESS, power distribution, or critical power infrastructure.
• Experience: Strong understanding of: Three-phase and single-phase UPS systems, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), All-in-One (AiO) power solutions, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Power quality and electrical distribution, Battery technologies (VRLA and Lithium-Ion).
• Technical Skills: One-line diagrams, load calculations, and redundancy architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Supporting data centers, AI infrastructure, telecommunications, healthcare, or industrial facilities.
• Knowledge: PDUs, RPPs, STS, rack power distribution, and energy storage integration.
• Familiarity: IEEE, NEC, UL, and NFPA standards.
• Mandarin language skills are a plus.
