Field Account Representative position in the Public Sector division covering Peoria, Illinois. This role involves consistent day travel with infrequent overnight travel and offers a competitive base salary with a monthly sales incentive. Includes laptop/tablet, cell phone, and monthly expense coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable sales growth by prospecting new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and expanding opportunities with current customers to meet yearly sales goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers across all levels of an organization.
  • Manage sales volume with existing customers while actively prospecting and acquiring new customers to expand the customer base.
  • Develop and implement plans to expand business presence in the assigned territory.
  • Share market insights and competitor information with relevant channels throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to analyze market trends and customer needs for effective sales strategies.
  • Attend monthly business meetings, local trade shows, and represent the organization in regional or national activities.
  • Operate a personal vehicle consistently (more than 20% of the average work week); an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of business-to-business (B2B) field sales experience.
  • Experience with a large volume of product lines.
  • Organizational skills and tech-savviness.
  • Knowledge of facilities products such as hardware, electrical, lighting, plumbing, janitorial, and HVAC product lines.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Experience with consultative/solution selling.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a remote position.
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline with 2-5 years of experience, or MS/MA with 2-4 years of experience. Certification may be required in some areas.

Work Environment

  • Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to dust, fumes, or odors.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting, standing, or walking; some lifting or handling of material/equipment (8-20 pounds).
  • Overnight travel is typically less than 10% of the time.
  • Increasing independence with guidance provided only on unusual or complex issues.

Pay

Annual pay range: $53,500.00 - $77,700.00.
