Field Account Representative focused on selling MRO (maintenance, repair and operations) and janitorial supplies to an established portfolio in the Dallas, TX area. This role includes a competitive base salary plus sales incentive bonus, along with provided laptop/tablet, cell phone, and monthly expenses.
Responsibilities
- Drive profitable sales growth by prospecting new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and expanding opportunities with current customers to meet yearly sales goals.
- Develop and maintain strong sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers across all levels of an organization.
- Manage sales volume with existing customers while actively prospecting and acquiring new customers to expand the customer base.
- Develop and implement plans to expand business presence in the assigned territory.
- Share market insights and competitor information with relevant channels throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with leadership to analyze market trends and customer needs, providing input for sales strategies.
- Attend monthly business meetings for company-sponsored associations, local trade shows, and represent the organization in regional or national activities.
Requirements
- Proactive sales professional with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize selling activities and administrative tasks.
- Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal team members.
- Ability to develop and execute a strategic sales plan to manage an existing customer base.
- Experience with consultative/solution selling preferred.
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Operation of a personal vehicle is required (consistently more than 20% of the workweek). A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report will be required; an acceptable MVR is mandatory.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline with 2-5 years of experience in a related field, or an MS/MA with 2-4 years of experience.
- Certification may be required in some areas.
Work Environment
- Usually located in a comfortable environment but may be exposed to moderate physical discomfort (e.g., dust, fumes, or odors).
- Most of the time is spent sitting, standing, or walking; some lifting or handling of material/equipment (8-20 pounds) may be required.
- Overnight travel is typically less than 10% of the time.
