Field Account Manager – Industrial & Trades selling MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) supplies and Jan/San (Janitorial and Sanitary) products in Dallas, TX. Responsible for managing an established customer portfolio, prospecting new business, and driving sales growth.

Responsibilities

  • Exceed sales and profit targets by implementing sales and marketing programs and establishing short- and long-term sales strategies.
  • Drive growth by securing profitable new accounts through industry research, networking, and proactive prospecting.
  • Manage sales and customer retention initiatives to enhance sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee planning, forecasting, and reporting of sales activities and competitive pricing tactics.
  • Generate a strategic sales call schedule and conduct face-to-face customer visits to identify opportunities and enhance sales revenue.
  • Promote value-added solutions, navigate objections, and address customer adversities.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain a pipeline of qualified accounts using a designated CRM tool to meet or exceed sales and margin plans.
  • Focus on new account opportunities using effective cold call strategies to facilitate territory growth.
  • Implement approved sales strategies to achieve targeted outcomes and foster customer relationships.
  • Maintain industry-specific product knowledge and deep understanding of specialized services to cater to client accounts.
  • Utilize Salesforce reporting and data analysis to identify sales and revenue growth opportunities within the territory.
  • Review customer portfolio to identify and drive action with underperforming accounts.
  • Collaborate with inside sales to support business growth and development.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of business-to-business (B2B) field sales experience.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Experience with consultative/solution selling preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize selling activities and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to manage an existing customer base.
  • Operation of a personal vehicle more than 50% of the average work week; acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report required.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline; generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field.
  • OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certification is required in some areas.

Work Environment

  • Overnight travel typically less than 10% of the time.
