About the role
The Fiduciary Tax and Accounting Associate supports fiduciary accounts by preparing and reviewing financial statements, posting and reconciling journal entries, and maintaining accurate ledgers for trusts, estates, and guardianship matters.
Responsibilities
- Assists with tax preparation and filings for fiduciary entities
- Maintains accurate ledgers for trusts, estates, and guardianship matters
- Monitors account activity and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies
- Analyzes account information, identifies variances or issues, and provides clear documentation and reports for clients, courts, and other stakeholders
- Uses accounting software to process transactions, generate reports, and improve workflow efficiency
Requirements
- Skills in preparing and reviewing financial statements and understanding fiduciary accounting principles
- Skills in recording, reconciling, and analyzing journal entries and general ledger activity
- Strong analytical skills and a solid foundation in finance to interpret account data and support decision-making
- Proficiency with accounting software and related productivity tools used for fiduciary and tax accounting
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience with fiduciary, trust, or estate accounting
- Familiarity with tax reporting for trusts and estates
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, discretion, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with colleagues, clients, courts, and external professionals
Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include experience with fiduciary, trust, or estate accounting; familiarity with tax reporting for trusts and estates; and knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
